Description: A girl and the Warden Cr E E Poke holding onto a flag during the opening ceremony at the picnic sports held at the recreation ground Smithton, Tasmania, in the afternoon of May 1951. Dame Enid Lyons opened the sports and was accompanied by the Warden E E Poke. These events were followed at night by a bonfire, pictures at the High School, a dance and an Amateur Hour.
