      Date: 1884 -

Description: The Woodsdale School is built out of timber weatherboards and a iron roof. The original roof was a shingled roof. The school was built in 1884 to accommodate the growing community of Woodsdale. The building consists of a large school room nine metres by seven metres with an open fire. Joining the school room is the Principal's residence which consists of four rooms which was used by the teaching staff for accommodation during their time employment. The school was closed down in 1965 and most of the furniture, books etc. were destroyed. In 2005 the Levendale and Woodsdale History Rooms Inc. group successfully gained a twenty year lease from the owners (Tasmanian Fire Service) to restore the building and for it to be used as a community centre and museum.
