Description: Oval shaped, mild steel hatbox with brass plated steel clasp and lock. A hinged lid with a cord stopper and a handle on the lid. Painted tan with lighter marbling and two brown rings on the sides of the lid. The interior is painted green and contains lavender sprigs. L.V.W. is painted in black below the lock. The hatbox was owned by Gertrude (Gertie) Wise but her initials were not LVW. There is no key for the lock.
