      Date: 1930 -

Description: Pleated black paper fan with wooden handles. Opens to form at least a semi-circle (in current delicate condition, to open wider may tear the paper). The handles are covered in a fine brown fabric and have metal caps on the tips (one cap is missing). Belonged to, and probably made and used by, Hilda Blundstone (1914-2003) who lived most of her life on Flinders Island, having arrived there in 1937 to take up the position of teacher at Whitemark School.
