Description: Cuttlefish bones, ie the internal skeletons of 2 species of cuttlefish, namely white Amplisepia apama (giant cuttle) and pinkish Sepiia braggi, identified by Liz Turner in 1997. The bones are chalk like. Collected on Flinders Island beaches. Giant Cuttle is very common in Bass Strait. Cuttle bones get washed up in winter storms.
