Description: A concreted conglomerate of broken items from the wreck of the City of Edinburgh (vessel). Recognisable are the base of a wineglass, part of a salt cellar, the base of a bottle, a shard of green patterned porcelain, fragments of glass and timber. All are bound together with white and iron stained concretion. The concretion contains impressed patterns of other glassware (like fossils). Recovered by Marj Virieux in 1969. The City of Edinburgh was built 1813 and wrecked off Prime Seal Island onJuly 11, 1840.
