Description: An early transistor radio manufactured by the Astor Company. It is in an oblong dark brown leather case with gold trim and plastic tuning knobs and handle, the case forming an integral part of the radio. Inscribed ASTOR TRANSISTOR across the front. This radio belonged to the late Mr R. M. Fowler, founder of the Furneaux Museum, and was used by him, in the museum building, whilst writing his book "The Furneaux Group".
