Mr. Charles Best was a Butcher by trade who operated a business from this address for a number of years. In the early years of the 20th Century, the former Best family home and shop was converted into a Maternity Hospital, which operated until 1933. The last baby delivered here was Alan Hubert Wood who was born on the 23rd of June 1933. The brick and timber building has been privately owned for many decades. This image was captured in February, 1992 from the north - eastern direction.
