Later operated by Shaw, Savill & Albion Line still on UK-Aust passenger route. Became an armed merchant cruiser in WWII and was sunk in a battle in the North Atlantic by the German pocket battleship Admiral Scheer in Nov 1940. Captain Fogarty Fegan was postumously awarded the Victoria Cross for this action.
