Description: The MAWEENA was a 86 ton wooden steam ship built by Purdon & Featherstone in 1913 for Martha Whitehouse. This was another steamer used on the New Norfolk run by the Whitehouse family. In 1929 she was damaged by a fire (see another image of her just after the fire). She was rebuilt, converted to a motor vessel and sold for use on Papuan rivers, but was later wrecked on a reef in 1933.
