Description: The MORSE was originally a 114 ton paddle steamer built by Harry Grining at Strahan in 1917. The MORSE was built mostly of Huon Pine on Tasmania's West Coast. She was burnt at Hobart in 1919 but resurrected, sank in 1949 but was raised, and was being used as a pile driver in 1954. In 1922 she was converted to a twin screw steamship and in 1938 was running between Ida Bay and Risdon for the Electrolytic Zinc Co.
