      Date: 1820 -

Description: Black, stitched leather sole and partial upper of a child's shoe in very worn condition. Remaining portion of the upper is of a very thin leather and there are traces of a lining material. Found at the site of the camp of the survivors of the George Marshall beached on 15th January, 1862 at Marshall Bay, Flinders Island having been holed by hitting a rock off the Kent group the previous day. All crew and passengers were saved and camped in the dunes until rescued.
