Description: Yellow painted steel kerosene hurricane lamp with red glass. Glass is embossed with an outstretched hand holding a flame, encircled by dashes. Top is lifted by a latch mechanism. This red light indicated an obstruction such as a fence close to the runway. Used at Whitemark Aerodrome during World War II and up until 1979 after which battery operated lights were used.
