Description: The first school at Montumana, Tasmania, was commenced in 1912. The group of children are Left to right - Ada Bingham, Amy Lamprey, Jack James, Ada Lamprey, Keith James, ---Steers, Ernest James, Maisie Hogarth, Thomas Hogarth. Maisie and Tom Hogarth started school at four years of age so that their was sufficient numbers to start a school in the area.
