Description: This brick structure is situated at No. 49 William Street, Westbury, Tasmania. The shop and residence was built in the 1850 - 1960's by Westbury builder and undertaker Mr. Charles Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was ably assisted by Mr. James Best who was a bricklayer by trade. One of the earlier proprietors of this building was Mr. Henry P. McCreery who operated a pharmacy at this address in the 1870's. A butchers shop was later established at this site and operated here for several decades last century. A verandah was added to the dwelling in the early 1900's. Various small business ventures have operated from this building in recent years. The photograph was taken from the north-western direction in the late 1980's.
