Description: Aneroid barometer with carved wooden frame. From the 'Brier Holme.' The crew of the 'Brier Holme' left this barometer in Launceston to be repaired, intending to collect it when they returned. However, the barque was wrecked on its next voyage. It was lost in a raging storm off the isolated south west coast of Tasmania in 1904. Only one crew member survived.
