      Date: 1967 -

Description: A stone cairn with bronze plaques dedicated to the memory of Truganini, a Bruny Island aboriginal person. The monument carries a replica headstone of Truganini with the inscription: "This memorial is dedicated to the memory of Truganini 1812 - 1876". Originally erected by school children in 1967, this memorial stands on the Hummock, the lookout point on the Bruny island Neck. The bronze memorial plaques were removed from the cairn during the 1970's, restored by the Bruny Island Historical Society in m1989 only to be vandalised again in 1999 and replaced in 2000.
