Aircraft Carrier Squadron in March 1945 on the occasion of his promotion to become Fleet Engineer Officer, British Fleet. The Captain (E) was guest of the wardroom of HMS Victorious and he was awarded this souvenir as " the officer who travelled most miles across the Pacific in a breeches bouy". This referred to the many transfers he had made by destroyer between the Big Six Carriers in the months leading up to the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay.
