      Description: The MARANA was 108 ton wood screw steamer built by Purdon & Featherstone at Battery Point in 1908.The Whitehouse family had MARANA built and ran her or many years on the New Norfolk run. She was owned for a time by the Huon, Channel & Peninsula Steam Ship Company and later, in the 1950s by Roche Brothers.
