Description: This building situated on the Rosny Public Golf course has been described as the oldest building in Tasmania. It is a large stone barn with restored shingle roof and double doors on 2 sides; built from bluestone with sandstone corners and doorways with shell mortar. Twelve vertical slots in the walls near the timber gutter allowed for ventilation. It was built for land owner Richard Morgan. Richard Morgan featured in Colleen McCulloch's book Morgan's Run. He was the first farmer at Kangaroo Bay and one of the recipients of land grants on the Eastern Shore. The barn is listed on the Australian Heritage Places Inventory.
