      Date: 1890 -

Description: Cast iron base to a hollow iron. Used by heating it on a wood stove and by placing hot coals in the hollow area thus allowing the iron to retain heat. Vent to allow smoke and gases to escape. Vent with sliding cover to control amount of air to coals. Wooden handle with attached, hinged, metal flap.
