Photograph of Charles Henry Jackson


      Date: 1914 -

Description: Original studio photograph, a portrait of the above in W.W.I army uniform. He enlisted from Hastings in 1914. Upon his return to Hastings in 1920 he became Postmaster until 1934. He is buried in a war grave at Hastings cemetery, the only one with the inscription still legible. He was badly gassed during the war, and he was known as a colourful personality.
