Description: Dark green, almost black, glass wine bottle with large score marks on side. Deeply indented base. Cork stopper inside bottle. Applied lip. Bottle was recovered by diver Marj Virieux from the wreck of the City of Edinburgh and still had contents when recovered in 1970's. Contents stored in soft drink bottle accompanying the item. The City of Edinburgh was built 1813 and wrecked off Prime Seal Island onJuly 11, 1840.
