![]() Click thumbnail for a larger image. | Description: Charles Chessel built Maria Orr, the first whaler to be built in Hobart and the first ship-rigged vessel to be built in Tasmania. In recognition of this the Government presented her with a suit of sails. She was built for William Orr and launched in 1838.
