      Description: The steamship BEAUTIFUL STAR, 177 tons iron steam ship was built in 1862 in Northumberland. One of the United Steam Ship Company's first vessels, BEAUTIFUL STAR was used for many years in the NSW and New Zealand coastal trade. Later she was owned by the Huon, Channel & Peninsula Steam Ship Company. In 1902 she collided with SS HUON between Snug Point and Oyster Cove and by 1907 she was a hulk. On Christmas Day 1907 she was accidently burnt along with the former whaler, Derwent Hunter.
