      Description: The iron 2-masted schooner rigged steam ship,CERES,was built in Melbourne in 1875.In 1909 Ceres was brought to Hobart as a temporary replacement for Calvert and Gulliver's SEABIRD, which had been lost at Adventure Bay. The newly built REEMERE replaced her after only 4 months and she returned to Victoria for the Melbourne-Western Port trade.
