Description: Sepia photograph of Charles Henry Jackson in AIF uniform, enlisted from Hastings in 1914 for the First World War returned at end of war and was Post Master from 1920 to 1934. His war grave and headstone is in the Hastings Cemetery. He entertained local children by telling them tales that he survived war time hunger by chewing on a pocket full of German ears - source Bert Price.
