Click thumbnail for a larger image. | Description: The Stanley Nut is an extinct volcano and a geological oddity which rises 143 metres above the sea and is approx 250 metres in diameter. The rock faces have been beaten by wind and waves on three sides for nearly 13 million years. The area of the plateau is 35 hectares and is flat. It can be seen from all over Circular Head, Tasmania and dominates the land and seascapes.
