Description: Silver plated trophy cup with lid and two large handles. Inscription: T.T Ostle S.F.C Perpetual Trophy "Best and Fairest". On back: 1969 L Hardly, 1970-1971 N Clear, 1972 F Midson, 1973 T Smith, 1974 M Wilson, 1975 G Skewes. This cup was donated to the South Football Club by Tommy Ostle who was a Soldier Settler on Flinders Island after World War II. During the 1969 - 1974 football seasons there were two football teams on the island, North and South. In 2003 there are still two teams, East and West. The winners inscribed were Lindsay Hardy, (Telecom worker), Noel Clear, (farmer and wool classer), Freddy Midson (Australia Post worker), Terry Smith (CBA bank worker), Murray Wilson (SoldierSettlers son), Graheme Skewes (Soldier Settler's son). The cup may have had a bakelite base.
