Sydney Cove Anchor

      Date: 1790 -

Description: Forged iron Admiralty design anchor from the Sydney Cove. The Sydney Cove was beached off Preservation Island on February 9, 1797. The anchor was recovered by archaeological divers during 1980's, along with another anchor and several artifacts. All were conserved by the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery and one anchor was presented to the Furneaux Historical Research Association along with several display boards prepared by Linda Clark (Objects Conservator QVMAG).
