      Description: Postcard showing later model cars lining Emmett Street taken from Smith and Emmett Street intersection, Smithton, Tasmania. The Norfolk Island Pine on the corner of King and Emmett Street is clearly seen. It was planted in either 1902 or 1904 by Richard Barnes. There were two trees planted and they were named after Boer War heroes. The tree pictured is still growing and in 1985 it was reported to be 23m tall. The tree is decorated with lights each year as part of the Christmas decorations in the Street.
