Description: The root hopper has a wooden stand, which has curved metal handles for carrying. The stand is 75cm wide, 76cm high and a depth of 43cm. The hopper is made of metal and inside it has a circular replaceable grater wheel with a diameter of 62cm. The handle is shaped as an S and is 38cm long and held by a 35cm wooden handle which turns the wheel. In the early 1900s the Howard children after school would come home and pull the turnips used this to chop up root vegetables for stock feed and then mixed with chaff. Inscribed on the side is Root Pulp NPA.
