Description: Pine and wire two tier meat safe with shelving that Martha Howard used from 1907. Meat was kept in the fly proof safe or in a chalf bag in a tree. Most of the meat was corned in brine in a cask or kerosine tin as there was no refrigeration at this time. This meat safe was made by Martha's brother Phillip Wagner.
