Description: The "Dead Penny" was a bronze plaque produced in memory of those killed in WWI. They were presented to bereaved families in the early 1920's, but not all families received them before production stopped. Each plaque had the late serviceman or woman's name individually applied. This particular plaque was presented to the family of Colin Finch, born 1896, KIA Flanders, 1917. His father, F.A.Finch was head teacher at Beauty Point school during the war years.
