Description: Monochrome photograph showing the entrance to one of the two condemned cells used on the site since the ealry 1860s when this became the main execution site for Tasmania. The cells were adjacent to gallows and the condemned prisoners spent their last few days in them. These cells were demolished shortly after this photograph was taken in 1961.
