PMG Leather Safety Belt

      Date: 1914 -

Description: A brown leather safety belt with two steel buckles and a wider insert to cushion the wearers back. It was used by P.M.G. linesmen working on overhead telephone lines on Flinders Island. It was adapted from an original World War I horse harness. The belt is stamped with the symbol "L A 7". and an arrow. This belt was used by PMG Linesman George Coster.
