Description: Leather shape with buckle that fitted over the palm of the hand when sewing sails and palm was thus protected when pushing the needle through thick canvas. Found on Vansittart Island by the Ross family and thought to be from the wreck of the Farsund, The Farsund was wrecked off Vansittart Island on the 9th March, 1912.
