      Date: 1930 -

Description: Two leather disks on a leather thong, designed to be worn around the neck. One tag is circular in shape, tan in colour, with impress DARGAVILLE TX5676 on the front and 04 on the back. The other tag is 8-sided, green in colour, with impress DARGAVILLE G.A. TX5676 on the front and 04 on the back. The whole is very light in weight. Army issue, called dog tags by the troops. Belonged to George Anderson Dargaville (d. 1987 on Flinders Island) and used by him in World War ll. TX5676 was his Identification number, the T identifying him as a Tasmanian.
