Description: Two broken pieces of a water filter, from the wreck of the barque 'Asterope', which went aground on the Hebe Reef on 8 June 1883. Attempts to refloat her were unsuccessful, and by 13 June the vessel was a total wreck. One piece has 'MANCHESTER' printed on it.
