Creator(s): unknown Description: Coroded 1m long metal section of a whale harpoon. The harpoon has an arrow head with barbs along sheath. This whale harpoon was found at Recherche Bay on Planters Beach by Luke Shields during his Easter holidays in 2002. It had been uncovered by a storm and lay exposed on the sand. During the time it has been buried in the sand, rust has bonded a thick layer of sand to its surface making it look much thiscker than it really is. It was probably bent during the battle to kill its last whale.
