Description: Mr F B Brown the first manager of the Dewpoint Dehydration factory at Smithton, Tasmania. The Smithton factory was opened on November 10th 1943 under Commonwealth Department of Agriculture programme to supply vegetables for the forces during World War II. At the opening Mr Brown said he expected to find the diplomatic service of his coutry most interesting.
