Description: This brick structure is situated at No. 163 King Street in Westbury, Tasmania. The Commercial Bank of Tasmania operated from this address for some years. At the first meeting of the newly formed Westbury Municipal Council held in December 1863, the Commercial Bank was selected for the Council's financial transactions. A new Commercial Bank was built at No. 17 Lyall Street in 1887. Mrs. Fowler lived in the residence and operated a shop here in the 1920's. Mrs. Sales managed a small general store in the 1930's at this address also. The dwelling has been privately owned for several decades. The photograph was taken in May 1995 from the southern direction.
