Description: The Six Wheeler was built by Hudswell Clarke and Co of Leeds in 1891. The 0-6-0 tank engine was purchased in 1901 by Lees. It worked for the Lees, then the Public Works Department, the Tasmanian Government Railways and finally F Jaeger and Sons. It was partly stripped when the Jaegers bought it and they fitted a boiler from another locomotive but in 1945 the boiler was removed and an internal combustion engine was fitted. It was used at the sawmilling operations in the Redpa/Salmon River area, Tasmania. Following the closure of Jaegers' tramway the Six Wheeler was abandoned at Welcome Swamp for some years. In 1972 its derelict remains were recoved and it's frame and wheels were used as part of a display engine at the Marrawah Hall until 1984 when it was removed and dumped in the local tip.
