The business and residence was built in the 1850's and traded as the Hagley Post Office and Six Day Store. The photograph was taken on the 10th of May 1915 from the north-eastern direction after a recent snowfall. A horse hitching rail is visible in the foreground. Miss Vera Hingston is seen standing in the side porch. Mr. Ernest Viney is standing under the front verandah. Standing at the front fence is local identity Mr. George Woolnough. The dwelling was demolished in 1970.
