Description: This church is situated on the Meander Valley Road (formerly Bass Highway) in Hadspen, Tasmania. The building was commenced in c. 1858 by Mr. Robert Sleightholm who migrated to Australia from Southampton and was employed by Reverend Thomas Reibey who was financing the project. However, the work was abandoned when the walls reached roof level. The structure was known locally as Reibey's Church . Building was recommenced one hundred years later and the original plans were faithfully followed. In 1961 the task was completed and the church was dedicated as the Church Of The Good Shepherd. Some of the furnishings and stained glass from the nearby Entally House Chapel were used in the new church. The place of worship was consecrated in February 1973. The photograph was taken from the north-eastern direction.
