      Description: The building of the stone chapel at Highfield was commenced in 1838 but it was never completed. Services were conducted in the chapel from 1842 until a church and parsonage was built in the township of Stanley, Tasmania . The chapel built by convicts as part of the original VDL settlement at Stanley was later used as a storehouse.
