      Description: The English, Scottish and Australian Bank Ltd in Emmett on the corner of Smith Street, Smithton, Tasmania. The bank operated from the ground floor and a four bedroom residence was on the second floor. This building was offically opened in 1928. The Commercial Bank opened in Emmett Street, Smithton in 1918 and in 1921 became a branch of English, Scottish and Australian Bank Limited after the two banks merged and the E S & A Bank operated from this two storey building in Emmett Street. In 1970 the E S & A Bank merged with the Australian & New Zealand Bank Limited to become Australian & New Zealand Banking Group Limited and continue to operate from this Emmett Street address.
