Description: Candle powered carriage lamp, body part brass, part steel. Rectangular, clear, cut glass face, right hand side is clear glass, small red circular glass at rear. Back is hinged for insertion of candles. Perforated mantle top to allow heat to escape from the lamp. Originally one of a pair, the second was in worse condition and discarded. These lamps were used on horsedrawn vehicles when travelling at night.
