      Description: Factory workers sorting vegetables on the conveyor belt at W. D. Peacocks processing plant. On November 10th 1943 the Dewpoint Dehydration factory at Smithton, Tasmania was opened by the Commonwealth to supply vegetables for the forces during World War II. The factory in Smithton provided 2000 tons cabbage, 2500 tons carrots, 200 tons potatoes and 600 tons of swede a year.
