      Date: 1900 -

Description: Pale blue Marmite jar with screw top rusty steel lid, containing Condy's Crystals (potassium permanganate). Hand labelled CONDES CRYSTALS. The crystals were used as a treatment for snake bite and applied after cutting around the bite and sucking out the venom (this treatment is no longer used). Given to Frank and Heather Willis by Olive Willis, when they moved on to site 38 on Big Dog Island in 1949. One of the original artefacts in the replica mutton-bird processing shed.
